How to Install your Laminate Floor 5

For the middle rows, follow the directions above and lay the panels in the same manner. The length of the first panel of each row should be varied so that the end seams of each panel may be staggered.

The width of the last row may be shorter than previous rows so it might be essential to cut the panels of the last row to the suitable width (See directions above for the first row.)

While installing the panels, it is important to note that wood dust could be hazardous. Wood products such as fiberboard can create wood dust when sawed or sanded or machined. This wood dust that becomes airborne can not only cause health problems, but can also be explosive. For those reasons, your power tools must have dust collections. You also need to be cautious in order to prevent ignition.

There is an organization in the United States called NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) that sets guidelines for limiting wood dust exposure to prevent health problems such allergies, reduced lung capacity, asthma, nasal cancer, and eye and skin irritations. When sawing, sanding or machining wood products, use a dust mask and safety glasses that are approved by NIOSH. Outside the United States, check with your national occupational health and safety organization to inquire as to the appropriate standards for protective equipment in your country.
